Qypsys Commitment to Our Customers
While many technology companies may sell technology solutions, very few can match the knowledge, expertise, and experience of the Qypsys team. From the initial contact to the final details and every step in between, our highly qualified professionals will be there to guide you through the entire process. Our team will work with you to deliver a customized solution tailored to best meet your business objectives and technology needs.
And we don’t just walk away after installation. We offer ongoing network maintenance and support packages to ensure your technology keeps working for you. With multiple plan options, we can put a plan together to best meet your specific maintenance and support needs.
Access to the Technical Assistance Center (TAC)
Qypsys Network Support clients can access the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to open a ‘trouble ticket,’ required to begin the support process. Our technical experts can then begin working to diagnose, isolate and identify problems with the product. And our technical support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – so we can get started right away.
Additionally, as a registered member, you also have access to important files available for download in the Qypsys client portal.
Software Updates
Qypsys helps you keep your network secure by providing software updates when available. Uploading software updates to the latest versions as quickly as possible helps to keep your network protected and operating at optimal levels. It’s an important part of keeping your business running smoothly.
Analysis of Malfunctions or Interface Problems
When problems arise with your network, these can sometimes be attributed to malfunctions or interface problems. The most common malfunctions or interface problems typically fall under one of these three categories:
- Equipment or Physical Environment Faults
- Network Faults
- Application Layer Faults
Equipment or Physical Environment Faults
Network equipment can sometimes be damaged and stop working. Or it can age over time and eventually wear out. Looking for physical damage can help quickly pinpoint an equipment fault. And if any equipment is housed outdoors, it should be inspected regularly, especially after bad weather as it can be more susceptible to damage.
Physical environmental faults can lead to equipment failure and/or cause malfunctions. Some of the most common physical environment faults include, but are not limited to:
- Disruptions to the power supply, insufficient power supply, and unstable voltage
- Faults caused by ambient temperature fluctuations, which can freeze or overheat equipment
- Mismatched hardware or software
Network Faults
If the failure cannot be attributed to an equipment failure or malfunction, another potential culprit could be a Optical LAN fault. Optical network layer common faults in the Optical LAN include, but are not limited to:
- Fiber or optical cable line failures, such as broken or bent fiber, fiber attenuation abnormalities (often caused by aging) or fiber connection problems.
- Core component faults, such as transceiver failures with the OLT or ONU, or abnormal light-emitting ONU failure.
Application Layer Faults
Or the problem could be occurring at the application layer. Some of the most common faults that can occur at the application layer include, but are not limited to:
- Disruptions in service to the end-user by the service provider
- Security policy or access limitations
- Incorrect configuration or mismatched parameters, such as QoS parameters, VLAN parameters, BRAS parameters, service parameters, interface parameters, etc.
Remedies and Workarounds for Software Faults
And if the fault isn’t caused by equipment failure or a physical fault, and it’s not a network or application layer fault, another type of fault could be occurring with the software.
If a software fault occurs, Qypsys team first needs to determine if this is an individual or one-off software fault – something that is unique to your system. We will work diligently to provide a remedy or find a workaround for the fault, which includes fixes and patches provided by the vendor.
Sometimes after a recent software update, a glitch can occur. In this case, it would affect multiple companies and systems. We can check with the vendor for a fix, as they are likely aware of the problem and already working on solving it. Once available, we can help by uploading the patch or fix provided by the vendor.
If it’s a unique situation, our team will need to determine the cause. We will need to find out if the system was compromised. Best case scenario would be a simple configuration error that’s easy to pinpoint and quickly correct. Another possibility could involve incompatible software that has been uploaded and is causing a communication error or malfunction. Worst case scenario would be a software fault due to the network being compromised – especially if it was caused by a virus. Not only would we need to eliminate the virus, but also find out how the virus made it’s way into the system. It’s the only way to ensure the system isn’t compromised further and that the software fault won’t occur again.
