Carolina Panthers-Bank of America Stadium

Bank of America Stadium is a 75,523-seat football stadium located on 33 acres in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. It is home to the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League.

When the Carolina Panthers were upgrading their luxury suites, they searched for a way to deliver premium in-suite video and voice services, while leaving plenty of room for growth.  Passive Optical LAN was chosen as the delivery mechanism for these services. Single-mode fiber offers capacity and reach far beyond that of traditional copper cabling, with the added benefit that the video and voice services could be converged onto a single strand of fiber.  Not only could they eliminate the need for coaxial cable with bulky and expensive amplifiers throughout the stadium, they could also eliminate traditional copper phone cables at the same time. Qypsys provided the active POL components from DASAN Zhone Solutions and network engineering services to configure the system.
